COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Regional Health Foundation hosted its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon on Tuesday.
The theme of this year's luncheon is the "Faces of Your Care."
The luncheon serves as a way to raise awareness for breast cancer services in the community.
This year's speaker was Humorist Bobbie Staten, who is also a former nurse.
"They've made so many advances in the science helping breast cancer. People are now living 20, 30, 40 years with breast cancer, where it felt like a death sentence its nowhere like that now but the earlier the detection the better your chances are of stopping it right then," Staten said.
Hundreds turned out for the event, which was held at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.
