PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – Chattahoochee Valley Community College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) graduates from 2015 have earned 100 percent passing rates for both national licensure exams.
"This is an incredible achievement for both programs and our faculty and staff are to be commended," Mark Ellard said, CVCC Interim President.
While the LPN program has maintained a 100 percent pass rate for the past three years, this is the first time in several years that the ADN program has achieved a 100 percent passing rate.
"There are more stringent admission criteria for acceptance into both programs. Our faculty is using innovative teaching strategies in addition to a concept-based curriculum," Resa Lord says, Chairperson for Health Sciences at CVCC.
She also says the pass rates also helps maintain accreditation status with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Lord added, "This achievement helps establish us as a respectable program within the community. It provides our graduates with improved job opportunities."
