COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, and this morning it took on greater importance.
Seventeen nonprofit organizations were honored with checks early Tuesday, totaling $1,000.
Wells Fargo handed out the money during the Days of Giving Breakfast at the National Infantry Museum. The groups include the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley, Columbus Regional Health and several others.
Wells Fargo president Robert Horn says it's important to highlight people who are making a difference.
"This is just a day throughout Wells Fargo just not here in Columbus that we're recognizing nonprofit organizations with a $1,000 donation," Horn said.
The organizations honored were chosen by Wells Fargo employees because of what they do in the community.
