COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The American Cancer Society put on a golf tournament Wednesday, and our Jason Dennis was in attendance for the cause.
The tournament is held to raise awareness and raise money for those suffering from cancer. It was held at the Columbus Country Club.
The group released balloons for those battling and have been passed on because of cancer.
Melissa Fussell's 8-year-old daughter is a survivor of kidney cancer, and she spoke about the value the American Cancer Society holds for her.
"With pediatric cancer there have not been a lot strides in the last 20 years," Fussell said. "The fact that the American Cancer Society works so hard to raise awareness is very important to me and my family."
Fussell also said her daughter is now living off of one kidney and is doing just fine.
