COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – According to the Muscogee County coroner human remains were found on Thursday sometime before 4 p.m.
The remains were found near 50th Street and Oates Avenue, and they have not been identified.
Coroner Buddy Bryan confirmed the victim is a male and was wearing a black t-shirt with "Purple Haze" written on it in purple letters. Bryan also says the body was badly decomposed and had been there between nine months to a year.
The cause of the death is unknown and the body is being sent to the state crime lab in Decatur, GA on Monday.
