(WTVM) – The active Pacific hurricane season continues as Hurricane Patricia strengthened to a Category 5 storm with maximum sustained winds at 200 mph overnight. This is the strongest storm ever measured in the Western Hemisphere.
WTVM Storm Team 9 Meteorologist Greg Majewski says the storm track is headed for central Mexico, and is expected to go over mountainous regions which will cause the storm to quickly be downgraded.
The National Weather Service has issued flash flood watches for all of South Texas anticipating historic flooding for the region.
