COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A group of young people heard some inspiring words Saturday during a youth summit in Columbus.
The goal of the event was to teach, inspire and encourage the kids.
The participants also got the chance to talk about personal issues. A panelist says the summit is definitely a step in the right direction.
"I feel like it's a start, I feel like we have a long way to go, but you continue to take steps, continue to take steps, we'll continue to get where we need to be. This event is a step, you know, someone mentioned earlier that we need to do more of this so, not just this, we need to come together from all aspects of the community to bring the community together as a whole," Shawn Raleigh said, a panelist at the event.
This event was free and held at the public library on Macon Road.
