COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A Columbus man has been charged with one count of first-degree burglary by the Troup County Sheriff's Office, as well as other charges in Muscogee County.
According to a post on their Facebook page on Thursday, the Troup County Sheriff's Office said Shavon Green, 22, of Columbus, was found with several weapons stolen from a home in Troup County.
Through a joint investigation with Troup County and Muscogee County investigators, he told investigators that he was also providing stolen cars to gang members in order to commit crimes ranging from drive-by shootings to home invasions.
"Green said he received money from the gang members after he sold the stolen property to various people throughout Muscogee County and elsewhere," the post said.
Law enforcement in Troup County expect more arrests in this matter.
Green is currently detained in the Muscgoee County Jail. He's been charged with several crimes, including reckless driving, financial transaction card fraud, and theft by taking – motor vehicle, theft by receiving stolen property and obstruction of a law enforcement officer in Muscogee County.
All of the weapons recovered from Green have been returned to their owner.
