Opelika men arrested in connection to Auburn burglary

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Two men from Opelika have been arrested in connection to a burglary in Auburn. 

On Thursday, October 29 officers responded to a report of burglary in the 1300 block of Commerce Drive where a residence had unlawfully been entered. Electronics and currency totaling more $1,600 was reported taken. 

Officers were given a description of a suspect vehicle and two men were named as suspects.

Eddie J. Maddox, 29, and 26-year-old Marcus D. Sullins were contacted later by Auburn Police occupying a vehicle and were identified as the offenders. 

Property taken during the burglary was recovered from the vehicle. Both were taken into custody and each charged with burglary third degree and theft of property second degree.

Maddox and Sullins were transported to the Lee County Jail and will each be eligible for a $6,000 bond.
