COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Even though they can't go out trick or treating, one local hospital made sure their child patients still got a worthy Halloween celebration on Friday.
Midtown Medical Center held its 4th annual Crawl the Hall event at its Children's Hospital today. Hospital staff dressed up and participated, visiting the rooms of the kids. Helper dogs Cooper and Smudge also dressed up and participated in all the fun.
Staff costumes included the Wizard of Oz, Marvel characters and Minions. Hospital officials say all kids deserve a proper Halloween celebration.
"It's just important for the kids that's going to be here for the holiday not to miss out and they're kids and they know what they're going to be for Halloween months in advance, and then take that away from them because they're sick is just not fair," Mailey Wright said, with Midtown Medical's Children Hospital.
Activities available for kids included face painting, photo booths and even pumpkin painting.
