RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Habitat for Humanity of Russell County held a special ceremony to mark the dedication of yet another home.
On Saturday afternoon, Janet Starks was finally able to move into her new three bedroom, one bathroom house.
Construction started back in march of 2014 with volunteers coming from all over to help out.
Part of the program required Janet to pay a down payment and to work 500 hours of sweat equity toward the home.
"This has been a long journey, and I'm so blessed. I feel great, I'm so happy to be able to move in here with me and my girls. It's everything I dreamed of. It's like my little house on the prairie," Starks said.
