COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Omega Foundation and the Lambda Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated will host its Achievement Week Gala on Thursday, November 12.
The event will be held at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center at 7 p.m.
Brother Benjamin Crump, noted civil rights attorney and 53rd President of the National Bar Association, will deliver the keynote address.
"We are grateful to Brother Crump for accepting our invitation to speak in Columbus," said program chair Brother Jamal Dessausure. "Since Achievement Week was suggested by Brother Carter G. Woodson in 1920 and adopted as a mandated program of our fraternity, every chapter, including ours, has made it a priority focus of our community service."
A noted author and frequent news contributor, Benjamin Crump is known for taking on high-profile civil rights cases pro bono. He was the attorney for the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Tamir Rice.
Tickets for the event at $40 and can be purchased from local members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
