UPDATE: Woman ID'd following fatal accident with log truck on GA SR 85 Thursday

ELLERSLIE, GA (WTVM) – The woman who died in a two-vehicle collision on GA State Road 85 on Thursday has been identified by the Georgia State Patrol. 

GSP has identified the woman as Sheree Williams, 56, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

According to first responders on-scene, the collision occurred on GA State Road 85 in Ellerslie Thursday afternoon when Williams was traveling southbound past the Green Acres Subdivision and collided head-on with a log truck traveling northbound. Williams was pinned inside their car when it caught fire.

First responders were unable to get to the driver of the car, and Williams died at the scene. 

The accident caused a block between Harris Road and Ossahatchie Creek Road, but roads were reopened late Thursday

The driver of the truck, whose name has not been released, was also injured and transported to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus. The truck driver’s injuries have also not been disclosed.

The log truck driver was not at-fault for the incident.
