CTC recognizes veterans at ceremony

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Technical College spent the day honoring our men and women in uniform.

For more than 50 years, the college has held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

Veterans in the crowd were recognized for their service to our country during the event at McCaulley Auditorium.

More than 900 veterans attend Columbus Technical College.

School President Lorette M. Hoover says there are a valuable asset to the student body.

"Veterans bring with them leadership skills," Hoover said. "They bring life to our student clubs. We also hire veterans here at the college. A majority of my faculty and staff have had service in the military branch. We love having veterans here."

The guest speaker at Wednesday's ceremony was Army veteran Sergeant Major Alan Gibson.
