The city of Columbus welcomed home "Miss America" tonight. A big celebration was held at the National Infantry Museum for Betty Cantrell.
She's the first Miss America from Georgia in 62 years.
She was crowned just two months ago and earlier this year was crowned Miss Georgia at ceremonies in Columbus.
It was a busy day of appearances for Cantrell who also spent time this afternoon visiting sick children at the Children's Miracle Network at Midtown Medical Center.
The Warner Robbins native says she is thrilled to have the opportunity over the next year to have a positive impact on the lives of children across the country.
