MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Muscogee County school leaders say there is room for improvement following the release of results for the district in the new Georgia Milestones Assessment System.
The new assessment system is designed to provide information about how well students are mastering the state-adopted content standards.
According to the results, about 60-75 percent of district students in grades 3 through 9 show at least a partial mastery of their current grade level standards in most subjects.
While Muscogee County superintendent Dr. David Lewis while they are not satisfied with the results, he says they are pleased with students and teachers' hard work.
Lewis says they will continue to evolve to meet the new standards.
