OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - Lee County Emergency Management officials have issued a traffic alert for drivers in the Opelika area.
A portion of Lee Road 206 will be closed to through traffic for eight months due to a bridge replacement project starting Monday, November 23.
The bridge over a tributary to Little Uchee Creek along Lee Road 206 will undergo the replacement work and is expected to remain closed until sometime next summer.
Drivers wishing to travel both north and south on Lee Road 206 will be detoured onto Lee Roads 240 and 179.
Construction signs and detour signs will be in place for the public's convenience.
