AMERICUS, GA (WTVM) - A suspected serial robber who authorities say bit one of his customers while robbing him is in custody.
Ricky Lee Ford, 35, was wanted for multiple robberies in Americus. Authorities say he was captured near Atlanta and was being brought back to Sumter County to face charges.
Warrants have been issued for his arrest in connection to robberies at a three Americus businesses. In one of those robberies, police say he bit a customer and stole $80.
Authorities believe Ford used a shotgun to rob the Family Dollar off Highway 19 in Americus.
He's also suspected of robbing a Dollar General and a Chevron Food Mart. All three robberies happened over the weekend of October 10 and 11.
Law enforcement agencies throughout South Georgia had been searching for him for the last few weeks.
