COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Davis Broadcasting is holding two annual events over the next several days aimed at helping those in need this holiday season.

The company is kicking off its 29th annual 24-hour Radiothon Friday, Nov. 20 starting at 6 p.m. and ending Saturday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.

The airwaves will be dedicated to raise funds to ensure each child in the Columbus area has the opportunity to have a Merry Christmas.

All of the money donated will go towards purchasing bikes and toys for the Annual Needy Children's Party held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Columbus Civic Center.

"This started 29 years ago," explained program director Michael Soul. "It takes that effort from the entire community. We really appreciate that because we make sure that every kid that comes leaves with a toy or bike."

There are three ways to donate: drop by the Davis Broadcasting Studios on Wynnton Road, call (706) 576-3565 or go to www.foxie105fm.com.

The radio station group is also preparing for its 10th annual Turkey Giveaway on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Employees and on-air personalities with Davis Broadcasting will visit recreational centers in the area and distribute over 150 turkeys.
