Journal read in Chicken Coop Case

A Taylor County mother accused of locking her daughter in a chicken coop and starving her spent her second day testifying in the child abuse trial about an hour east of Columbus.

Today, Diana Franklin's journal entries were read out loud in court, but away from the jury, details how she , according to the entry, kept her daughter outside the home following sexual abuse from her husband Samuel Franklin who is set to face a judge in December.

Franklin has taken the stand in her own defense, beginning yesterday and continuing today- all the while maintaining her innocence.

Other people to take the stand included neighbors and family friends who say they did not see signs of abuse during their encounters with the family.
