COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A team of people from a Columbus company gathered to cook more than one-hundred turkeys to be given to people in the community who are in need on Monday.
Masterbuilt cooked 120 turkeys in giant smokers to be donated to the Valley Rescue Mission from people in the community.
Valley needed a way to cook the turkeys, but they did not have the means to do such a large number.
"This year Valley Rescue Mission is bringing 120 turkeys donated by the community and Masterbuilt set out to smoke all of them. This effort is a great way to incorporate the strength of the community coming together to help others. Masterbuilt partners with Valley Rescue to cook the turkeys because Valley doesn't have the means or resources to cook all of them," Nathan McGann said, with Masterbuilt.
The turkeys will be distributed to those in the community in need of a meal for Thanksgiving.
