AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – Auburn police have arrested 25-year-old Arquez Foster charging him with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and two counts of theft of property in the third-degree.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25 around 4 a.m. an officer was patrolling the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 700 block of W. Magnolia Avenue. The officer then observed a suspicious person looking into parked vehicles and pulling on door handles.

When additional officers arrived in the area the suspect was contacted and detained. Officers searched Foster and discovered an electronic device and assorted coins in a Crown Royal bag in his possession.

Further investigation by Auburn police determined that the property was taken from a 2007 Honda Civic that was parked in the area and illegally entered just prior to Foster being contacted by officers.

Foster was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail and he will be eligible for a $5,000 bond.
