Health with Dr. Paula: Myths about antibiotics

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The rise of antibiotic resistance is a global health crisis, and poses one of the greatest challenges for public health today.

Dr. Paula Walker King from Columbus State University says it's important to complete your antibiotics when they are prescribed. It is a myth for people to only take antibiotics until they feel better.

Antibiotics are called to kill bacteria, so they can't work on the cold or flu since those are considered viruses.
