VALLEY, AL (WTVM) – The search is on for the person who shot an Opelika man on Wednesday, Dec. 2 around 2 p.m.
Valley police were called out to the area of Woodland Avenue in reference to the shooting. When the officers arrived they met with the victim, 35, who says someone was shooting at him and his friend while they were walking on Dena Drive. The victim then felt a sharp pain in his leg and they both ran into the woods to escape the gunfire, and he later realized he had been shot in the leg.
Neither the victim nor the witnesses were able to give a description of the shooter or shooters. The victim was later treated on scene by Valley EMS and then transported to the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
