COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The suspect named in a shooting from Dec. 4 made his first court appearance on Wednesday.
Roger Thomas appeared in court on Wednesday, charged in the murder of his half brother, Demetrius Williams, but the case was continued because his legal council could not appear in court with him.
The case was continued to Dec. 16.
Thomas turned himself into Columbus police on Dec. 6, according to his attorney Stacey Jackson.
On Friday, Dec. 4 around 11:17 p.m., the Columbus Police Department patrol units were called to the intersection of Mellon Street and Bernard Drive for a shooting.
According to Columbus police, when the officers arrived they discovered Williams, 32, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Williams was transported to the Midtown Medical Center Emergency Room, where he was pronounced dead.
