CPD searching for Zelmo’s robbery suspects

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Police Department needs your help identifying two gas station robbery suspects. 

On Sunday, Nov. 29 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Columbus Police Department Patrol Units were dispatched to Zelmo's located on Wynnton Road in reference to an armed robbery of the business.

Upon their arrival the clerk stated that two robbers, armed with handguns, entered the business and demanded money.

The robbers then fled from the store on foot and were last seen heading towards the rear of the business, possibly towards the area of Buena Vista Road and 18th Avenue.

No injuries were reported to the police officers.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion between 20 - 25 years old. He stands about 5'05" to 5'08 tall and weighs approximately 110 to 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue/gray camo style pants, gray gloves, black toboggan, and a red bandanna covering his face.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion also between 20 - 25 years old. He stands about 5' 08" to 5'10 tall and weighs approximately 110 to 130 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark pants, gray gloves, black shoes, and a black scarf covering his face.

Columbus Police says the victim was taken to the Columbus Piedmont Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
