Savannah city council passes LGBT workplace discrimination law

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

All gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered workers are now protected against workplace discrimination by Savannah city law.

The city council unanimously approved the legislation, making Savannah the second city in Georgia to have this type of law, following in Atlanta's footsteps.

What this means is all employers within the city cannot fire someone solely on their sexual orientation or gender identity, and the city cannot deny permits or licenses for these reasons.
