Shaw High School serves the community through the Chick-fil-A leadership program

Shaw High School participates in Chick-fil-A's leadership academy

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Students at Shaw High School were able to learn the value of servant leadership through the Chick-fil-A leader academy program today.

On Friday, students participated in a leader lab with the topic of teamwork being discussed. The program consists of 10 students in three separate groups that will work to give back to the community.

This month, the group will participate in giving socks and blankets to those at area nursing homes. An 11th grader at Shaw says she is happy to be around people who are charitable.
"So many people are willing to give back. At Shaw we have had three weeks of giving. Our first week was dollars for Damian, a student whose house burned down. Last week was giving clothes to the Sara Spano foundation. The school has another program next week," Alisha Ferguson said, Shaw High School student.

This is the first year Shaw has held the academy, and they are also WTVM's partner in education.
