(WTVM) - Muscogee County Sheriff deputies need your help locating a wanted fugitive.
Officials want 22-year-old Tyrass James in jail.
"We released him on the sheriff's pre-trial release program where they are required to check in with us periodically," said Deputy Jeffrey Hackey. "We go and visit them at home. We go by and visit them and leave a card and they call us back. Everything they need to do to keep in touch with us until they go to trial."
But unfortunately, James did not follow those rules and now he's on the sheriff's most wanted list.
James stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
His was originally arrested on drug charges and his last known address was in the Holly Hills area of Columbus.
He's not considered dangerous but police want him back behind bars where they say he'll be spending a lot of time.
"He's probably going to be doing prison time whereas before he would have, on the charges that he had, he probably would have gotten probation or something like that," Hackey said. "But because he doesn't follow the easy rules, easy steps that they have for the contract for the pretrial release; he hasn't come to check in and his charges are a bit more severe."
So severe, the sheriff's department now has a felony escape warrant out for him.
So look closely at this photo of James, who was given an opportunity to change his life for the better but chose a different path.
