COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Christmas came a little early this year for kids at Midtown Medical Center.
The Crisis Care Team Ministry from Solid Rock Church in Midland spent the day visiting kids at the hospital, unloading more than 70 gift bags to the children along with hosting a Christmas party for the kids.
Organizers say the entire church was involved in donating these stuffed animals, coloring and activity books and crayons.
"We have had support from our entire church which has been wonderful," said team leader Angie Connell. "We're excited and we're hoping to make some of the children here who are sick here, we're hoping to make their Christmas a little brighter."
Organizers also say Martin Thiele, the well-known Miracle Rider from Scott's Ride for Miracles who tragically passed away from cancer earlier this year, was a big inspiration for this project.
