COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A local fraternity spent their day brightening the lives of 25 children for the holiday season.
On Thursday, Dec. 17 the Columbus chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha held a Christmas party and a toy giveaway for kids in the Valley area.
The kids had the chance to play games, dance, see Santa Claus and receive presents as well.
This is an annual event in which the Alphas spread a little holiday cheer to a group of kids that may not be as fortunate as some of their peers.
"This event is very important because you know we like to spread a little joy in the kids' lives you know some kids may not have as many benefits as others so any extra joy that we can spread in their lives will go a long way," said member Vincent Jones.
The organization says their event started about 10 years ago.
