Former Auburn coach Pat Dye receives legend award

MONTGOMERY, AL (WTVM) - One local football legend added to his already impressive list of accomplishments and awards on Friday.

Former Auburn University head football coach Pat Dye is the recipient of this year's Raycom Media Camellia Bowl Alabama Football Legend Award.

In true Coach Dye fashion, he took to the podium to give Ohio University and Appalachian State players – who are playing in Saturday's Camellia Bowl in Montgomery - some words of wisdom.

"I don't care about the wins, I don't care about the losses, I don't care about the championships," Dye said. "What I care about is him being an influence on your life every day; the way you live, the way you carry yourself, being accountable and being respectable the little things that are going to mean something to you the rest of your life. You're going to win or lose this football game but your football life is going to be over in a matter of years."

Don't forget to tune in to Saturday's Raycom Media Camellia Bowl, featuring Ohio University vs. Appalachian State. All the action kicks off in Montgomery at 5:30/4:30 Central on ESPN.
