COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - While many prepare for their holiday celebrations with family, there are some people who will be facing homelessness on Christmas.
On Thursday, Dec. 24, Fallen Angel Project brought over 200 backpacks to the SafeHouse for those in need in Columbus.
A community effort involving more than 50 people and organizations made it happen, including The Bike Shop of Columbus and Judy Bug Books.
In the backpacks were a blanket, bottle of water, T-shirts, pair of gloves, scarves, socks and a bag of toiletries.
An anonymous donor provided the money for the organization.
In the past the organization only had about 15 backpacks to give away. This year, they were able to give away more than 200 backpacks.
