COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Water Works officials say they are working on fixing issues with water discoloration, but they do say it is safe to drink.
"Columbus Water Works is aware that some of our customers are still experiencing discolored water. Your water is still safe to drink and to use," CWW said on Facebook.
CWW has posted several times on their Facebook page since Dec. 25, instructing customers to should run your water for about five to 10 minutes to clear up your pipes.
"We are on top of this situation and are flushing neighborhoods that have reported an issue," CWW said in one post on Sunday.
In a media release on Tuesday, CWW said they are "flushing the system based on customer calls."
"It may take a couple of days for the water to pass on through to the outer reaches of the distribution system," the release said.
