Store hours for New Year's Day

(WTVM) – New Year’s Day is all about celebrating a fresh start, eating a big meal, and ringing in the New Year with family and friends.New Year’s Day is a federal holiday, meaning that government building, schools, post offices, and banks are closed.

Here are restaurants and stores that will be open on New Year’s Day:

Restaurants:

Applebee’s: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Burger King: Will open late and close at the normal business hour.

Denny’s: Open 24 hours or normal business hours.

KFC: Open normal business hours from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

McDonald’s: Will open late and close at the normal business hour.

Olive Garden: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Pizza Hut: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Ruby Tuesday: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Starbucks: Open normal business hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., some locations might open later.

TGIF: Open normal business hours from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.        

Retail stores:

Bed Bath and Beyond: Open until 6 p.m.

Best Buy: Open until 7 p.m.

CVS: Open 24 hours or normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Lowe’s: Open normal business hours from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., but some stores might open later.

Rite Aid: Open normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Target: Open normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., but some stores may open later.

The Home Depot: Open until 5 p.m.

Toys “R” Us: Open normal business hours from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Walmart: All 24-hour locations will resume normal business hours, but other locations might open late or close early.

Walgreens: Open 24 hours or normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Grocery stores:

Kroger: Open normal business hours from 6 a.m. to Midnight.

Publix: Opens at 7 a.m., but some stores might close earlier.

Stores closed on New Year’s Day 2016:

Sam’s Club
