Phenix City fire officials investigate overnight fire at apartment complex

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Fire officials in Phenix City are investigating a fire that an apartment building a total loss early Sunday morning.

Captain Bowden with the Phenix City Fire Department said a fire call came in at 3:06 a.m. to Post Ridge Apartments, located at 501 16th Ave.

One building received heavy damage. The fire is now out but he says some units are still on the scene just cleaning up.

He says no one was hurt that he knows of and right now the cause is undetermined. According to Red Cross Regional Communications Director Alicia Anger, five families were displaced

Phenix City Red Cross has assisted by putting them up in a hotel. They also provided some financial assistance for food, clothing, and other things they need. The Red Cross also provided food for first responders and families on scene of the fire early this morning.
