RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - On Jan. 4, the Alabama Superintendent of Education spoke to teachers and staff at the Russell County High School Auditorium.
Dr. Tommy Bice talked about the new innovative opportunities that school systems have to make students ready for college and their future careers.
"For many years the state department was looked at as a regulatory agency not a partner in innovation and we've worked very hard over the last three years to change that," Dr. Bice said. "We want to create through our state board of education a policy environment so our school systems can be innovative."
Dozens attended the presentation on Monday.
