More than 1,500 Columbus residents without power

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Residents in the southern part of Columbus are in the dark after an 18-wheeler truck hit a power pole at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Cusseta Road on Thursday night.

According to the Georgia Power Outage Map, 1,561 residents are without power.

Police are out directing traffic at the intersection of North Lumpkin Road and 23rd Avenue.
