COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County School board kicked off its first work session of 2016 Monday evening.
Among the items on the agenda, school board members discussed current graduation requirements and support programs for at-risk students.
They also talked about plans underway for the construction of a new Spencer High School. That project to be funded by the SPLOST referendum will cost an estimated $56 million dollars.
Officials discussed the SPLOST budget and the allocation of resources for the new projects including improvements slated for South Columbus Elementary School.
