Columbus for Bernie Sanders hosts rally

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus for Bernie Sanders kicked off their "New Year New Hope" rally at the Columbus Library on Tuesday evening.

The group treated the event as an open invitation to anyone who would like to work towards electing Senator Sanders for presidency.

Topics discussed included plans for their campaign in Muscogee County, why they support Senator Sanders and how their campaign can succeed in Columbus.

"A group of people from all different walks of life and backgrounds coming together to fight for our common goal of electing Bernie Sanders president of the United States and finally getting some real change into this country,” said the organization’s director David Smith.

The group encourages anyone interested in getting involved to visit their Facebook or Twitter pages.
