VALLEY, AL (WTVM) - The Chambers County School Superintendent confirms a Valley High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave with pay, as the school board investigates an alleged inappropriate relationship the teacher had with a student in 2012.
Dr. Kelli Hodge says legally she cannot release the name of the teacher.
Hodge says she was notified of the situation on Jan. 4 shortly after the student, who has since graduated, filed a police report.
Valley Police say they investigated and determined charges could not be filed because under Alabama law the student met the age of consent at the time the student claims the relationship happened.
Valley police say because the investigation is now closed, they can't release the teachers name either.
