LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - A 16-year-old student was arrested Thursday after police say he brought a gun onto school grounds at LaGrange High School.
According to LaGrange police, the staff at LaGrange High was investigating threats made against another student when they discovered the 16-year-old juvenile was in possession of a handgun.
He was arrested by a school resource officer on weapons violations.
Police say he was also charged with four counts of criminal street gang activity after further investigation found he was a gang member.
He is being held at a regional youth detention center until his hearing with the Juvenile Court is held.
