COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It's an accomplishment that any couple would be proud to achieve - 70 years of marital bliss.
A Columbus couple marked that milestone Friday night; 94-year-old John Wine and 92-year-old Christine Wine met around World War II.
Mr. Wine is a WWII hero with both a silver and bronze star, as well as a purple heart with an oak leaf cluster.
The Wines say they met on a blind date in Colorado and got married shortly after. On Friday, they were surrounded with family and friends to celebrate their lasting love.
"We've been truly truly blessed. I think for our age we're doing pretty good. We still enjoy life tremendously, but the support we get from our family is absolutely unbelievable," Mrs. Wine said.
The couple has two daughters, two sons-in-law and one granddaughter.
