OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - Mothers worried about their children playing football will get the chance to have their biggest concerns about the sport addressed.
The Atlanta Falcons and Taco Mac will host a series of football safety clinics specifically for moms over the next few months in Georgia and Alabama.
One of the upcoming clinics will take place in Opelika, AL on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Opelika High School.
These clinics will provide helpful information to moms who have children who are considering or play tackle football.
The clinics will include classroom instruction on proper equipment fitting, concussion awareness and proper tackling techniques. One of the sessions that moms will participate in will include on-field drills.
Please come dressed in active wear such as tennis shoes and athletic apparel. There is no cost for these events, but participation is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested moms must register to attend. Check-in will begin at 6 p.m. and food and beverages will be provided at check-in. The clinic will take place from 7 – 9 p.m.
Participants are asked to leave children and spouses at home.
