Most Wanted: Quincy Bernard Brown

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A car thief is on the loose and Columbus and police need your help locating him.

A car is the subject of a police investigation between two longtime acquaintances.

"The victim told police she had given her keys to an acquaintance of her, Quincy Bernard Brown, and she informed him that she wanted the keys back later that afternoon,” said Officer Paul Moody with the Columbus Police Department. When he did not return the vehicle and not answer her calls she decided to call police."

According to police, the victim loaned her car to Brown on Nov. 30, 2015. The car in question was recovered by police on Dec 1 on Garden Drive in Columbus, but the condition of the vehicle was not quite the same.

"When it was recovered, the wheels and rims were removed as well as the battery," Moody said.

Now a warrant has been issued for 39-year-old Brown on a charge of theft by conversion.

"If you recognize him or if you have seen him recently,” Moody said. “Do not approach him but if you could call the Columbus police department about that."

So look closely at the face of a man on the run and help police make an arrest before he targets his next victim.

If you know Brown’s whereabouts, you can call police at (706) 653-3400. Remember, you do not have to give your name.
