Vandals scratch name into car, CPD investigating

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus police are searching for the person or persons responsible for vandalizing and scratching a name into a vehicle.

On Friday, Jan. 29, the victim went to the Columbus Police Department to report vandalism on his red 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.

The victim said he was at the YMCA on 14th Street earlier that day and left around 2 p.m. to go home.

After he arrived home, he noticed scratches in square patterns all over his hood and down both sides of the vehicle.

Additionally, the name “Lisa K.” was also scratched on the trunk of the vehicle.  The victim stated he does not know anyone with that name.

Police are also looking into the surveillance footage at the center for more details about the crime.

The victim estimates the damage to be about $1,200.
