Man shot twice on Sentry St. in Columbus early Tuesday

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A man was taken to a Columbus hospital shortly after midnight on Tuesday following a shooting, according to a Columbus Police Department incident report.

A 45-year-old man was reportedly shot twice in the back and taken to Midtown Medical Center by an ambulance following an incident on Sentry Street between 12:20 a.m. and 12:29 a.m.

Midtown Medical Center officials say he is in satisfactory condition at this time. 

The police report does not name or give a description of a suspect, nor have any suspects been named or arrested at this time. The incident is being investigated as an aggravated assault and criminal attempt armed robbery.
