Phenix City, Columbus officials rescue woman, 25, in serious accident on JR Allen

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

Phenix City and Columbus fire units both responded to the scene of a serious accident involving a single vehicle on JR Allen Parkway Westbound near the Riverchase Drive exit on Monday.

Fire Marshall Ricky Shores with the Columbus Fire Department says EMS arrived at the scene at about 7:45 p.m.

Shores says a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 25-year-old female traveled through the guardrail and went down a steep embankment for about 150 feet. 

Officials extracted the driver and transported her to the hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
