Auburn City Schools approves renovations at Duck Samford Stadium

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - A face lift is in store for Auburn High School's Duck Samford Stadium.

The Auburn School Board approved $100,000 in renovations for the gym.  

The stadium is slated to get a new drainage pipes and brickwork replacements. They will also be making safety changes that will limit access to the field during games. 

Daniel Chesser with the Auburn City Schools says the new changes will have the largest impact on students. 

"Limiting the from the visitors side to the home side back and forth it will really make everybody there job easier as far as security and safety goes," Chesser said. 

The football stadium improvements are part of the construction of Auburn's new high school including the installation of synthetic turf for one of the indoor gyms. 

The new high school is projected to be ready by Fall 2017.
