Blue Devils win season opener

The Columbus Blue Devils opened with a 4-run first inning and never looked back to defeat Woodward Academy 11-1 in their season opener on Tuesday afternoon. The game was played at Randy Jordan Field.

Cason Greathouse drove in the first run with an RBI groundout, while Jack Copley added a run-scoring single and Gage Dempsey had a 2-run single to get the Devils off to that fast start.

Greathouse picked up the win, giving up just one hit and striking out eight in four innings of work.
